The program, developed in partnership with the International Youth Foundation (IYF) and UNICAFAM University, aimed to strengthen the digital skills of young talent to meet current labor market demands and the technological evolution of the sector.

Innovation and training in emerging technologies

During the certification ceremony, Carmen Sealy de Broce, president of COSPAE, highlighted that tourism is a key engine for the national economy and its transition to digital requires trained personnel throughout the country. COSPAE is driving the digital transformation of tourism with a new generation of specialists.

A group of 82 young people successfully completed the Digital Tourism Diploma, a strategic COSPAE program designed to bridge technological gaps and improve employability in the sector.

A significant fact revealed by the institution is that 75% of the students were unemployed at the start of the course, which underscores the relevance of these training processes to facilitate labor insertion in the digital economy.

Territorial reach and strategic vision

The COSPAE initiative had a national impact, with the participation of young people from nine provinces and one comarca.

A total of 82 young Panamanians successfully completed the Digital Tourism Diploma, an initiative promoted by the Private Sector Council for Educational Assistance (COSPAE).

In this regard, José A. Tigert, Director of Tourism Investments of the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), highlighted the value of Panama as a logistics and connectivity hub, pointing out the need to prepare young talent to connect with emerging markets and take advantage of the country's strategic advantages in the global context.

Carmen Sealy de Broce reaffirmed that investing in training linked to technology and innovation directly contributes to closing social gaps.

With the delivery of these certifications, the organization and its allies consolidate their commitment to strengthening human capital and creating solid tools so that Panamanian youth can actively contribute to the transformation of national tourism.

The training, which lasted 12 weeks and completed 120 academic hours, allowed participants to acquire knowledge in cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence applied to tourism, blockchain and bitcoin, as well as the design of tourist experiences and the development of socio-emotional skills through the PTS Concierge program.

The diploma began with 100 participants between the ages of 19 and 35, achieving an 82% certification rate.
