The Transit and Land Transportation Authority (ATTT) began the national distribution of 2026-2030 license plates with the delivery of the first batch after completing the manufacturing process alongside the Chapala Vocational Center. These plates cover the projected demand for the first quarter of 2026, as reported. During the delivery, the general director, Nicolás Brea, indicated that the process is being monitored to ensure that both taxpayers and agencies receive their plates on time. The delivery of plates marks the start of the supply schedule that will extend nationwide. The ATTT detailed that the distribution to the rest of the municipalities will be progressive in the coming weeks, with the goal of regularizing the system throughout the territory. The entity closely supervised the start of this movement that seeks to normalize the service throughout the country. The first shipment includes 19,940 vehicle plates, destined exclusively for the Municipality of Panama, and corresponds to first-entry cars, that is, new units acquired in agencies. With this, the update of the vehicle fleet is also activated, guaranteeing that each owner has their regulatory identification as soon as possible.
