The Ministry of Labor and Labor Development reported that, following the events that occurred on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the Bridge of the Americas, it urges companies to adopt measures that contribute to safeguarding the well-being of workers. In this regard, it recommended that employers flexitize work schedules for employees who reside in West Panama, as well as for those who live in the capital and work in that region, considering the mobility difficulties that may arise. The entity also urged companies to implement alternative mechanisms, such as telework or other modalities, that allow the continuity of regular activities. The Ministry indicated that it will provide accompaniment and guidance to companies in the application of these measures, offering support to address any queries or particular situations that may arise.
