With the aim of inspiring new generations to become agents of change and to promote sustainability, Ford sponsored the 'Generation Planet' award as part of the InnovaNation Pitch Challenge event.
«Your ideas, creativity, and focus on real-world solutions show that you have the talent and vision to face our country's challenges with smart, well-founded proposals,» stated Sempf.
Through the sponsorship of the Generation Planet Award, Ford reaffirms its commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability and environmental education.
The program prompted participating students to reflect and propose solutions around five fundamental areas for the planet's well-being: protecting and restoring nature, cleaning the air, reviving the oceans, building a world without waste, and fixing the climate.
Vivian T. Dávila, Manager of Public Affairs and Communications for Ford in Central America and the Caribbean, highlighted the company's vision: «At Ford, we believe that sowing environmental awareness in the youth is one of the most effective ways to ensure a sustainable future. With Generation Planet, we want children to understand that every action, no matter how small, can generate a positive impact on the world they will inherit».
Development of Innovative Solutions
Over several Saturdays, students attended a series of talks and workshops focused on caring for the environment. This preparation was crucial for participants to understand current ecological challenges and to develop innovative solutions from their own perspective, culminating in the presentation of their proposals at the program's final event.
Karin Sempf, CEO and founder of InnovaNation, expressed her admiration for young talent.
«It has been incredible to work with such brilliant young people.»
