Road Closures Announced for Panama Christmas Parade

Panama City has announced road closures for the 'City of Stars' Christmas parade on Sunday, December 14th, with over 300,000 attendees expected.


The Panama City Municipality has announced road closures for the Christmas 'City of Stars' parade this Sunday, December 14th.

Tomorrow Saturday, at 10:00 p.m., Aquilino de La Guardia Street will be closed from the Bicsa Tower on Balboa Avenue to the traffic light at Calle 50, to allow for the setup of parade floats.

On Sunday morning, starting at 6:00 a.m., Uruguay Street will be closed from the entrance of the Le Meridien hotel on Balboa Avenue to the Delta station on Calle 50. Likewise, at midnight on Sunday, the intersection of Federico Boyd Avenue with Calle 50 will be closed to traffic until the Banisi traffic light. The intersection of Porras Avenue with Cincuentenario will also be closed until 5:00 a.m. for the dismantling of the floats.

Additionally, on Sunday, Calle 50 will be completely closed from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. to allow for the cleaning of the entire area. The parade will begin at 3:00 p.m. from the intersection of Calle 50 and Elvira Méndez Street in Bella Vista and will proceed along Calle 50 until reaching East Calle 75 in San Francisco.

The Metro de Panamá announced it will operate on a special schedule until midnight on Sunday so that families can enjoy the event without using their vehicles. The MiBus company will also reinforce all routes passing near the parade to ensure comfortable travel for attendees.

According to the Municipality, over 300,000 people from across the country are expected to participate, who will enjoy 30 Christmas floats, 92 delegations, 3 international bands, 10 cultural associations, 20 invited children's community groups, and 9,000 artists including characters, hosts, and dancers.
