Panama's 20-30 Telethon Successfully Raises Funds for Maternity Ward Upgrade

Panama's 20-30 Telethon concluded, raising over $2.4 million to upgrade the maternity ward at Santo Tomás Hospital. The funds will be used to purchase modern equipment to improve care for mothers and newborns.


At 1:00 a.m. this Sunday, the 20-30 Telethon concluded with its goal exceeded to upgrade the Maternity Ward of Santo Tomás Hospital. Nex Panamá was one of the media outlets that sponsored the 2025 Telethon, contributing $100,000. 'Thanks to your support, we reached our goal and today we are strengthening the Maternity Ward of Santo Tomás Hospital, directly impacting mothers and newborns who deserve to start their story with dignity and care,' was the message sent by the Activo 20-30 Club after surpassing the $2.4 million set as the target for this objective. The Telethon, traditionally held in the first half of December, took place at the Anayansi Theater in the Atlapa Convention Center, featuring a show with singers and artists from different musical genres. Notably, journalist Vivian Jiménez from the Panamá América newspaper was part of the volunteer team for the event. With this year's contribution, it is expected to equip the hospital's Maternity Ward with state-of-the-art technology to improve its service for Panamanian women and children. During the event, testimonials were shared from families who spoke about cases where the medical staff at Santo Tomás intervened to improve the quality of life for their children. At the close of the event, which lasted over 28 hours, a total of $2,417,385.19 had been raised. This year marked its 40th edition, which featured artists such as Pter, Lennox, Corina Smith, Dalex, Hellen Marie, and Farah in the final segment.
