Copa Airlines celebrates 31st Unforgettable Trip with 128 Panamanian children

Copa Airlines carried out the 31st edition of its emblematic "Unforgettable Trip" program, an initiative that for over thirty years has transformed the lives of Panamanian children and adolescents in situations of economic and social vulnerability.

Ivette Franco, Senior Director of Legal Advisory at the airline, highlighted that the activity aims to show participants that they can achieve high goals through effort and education, fundamental tools for social transformation.

The central purpose of the project is to inspire Panamanian youth by providing access to aspirational experiences that foster continuous learning.

On this occasion, 128 students aged 9 to 12, from public educational centers in Panama, West Panama, Coclé, Colón, and Chiriquí, were selected to experience this trip due to their outstanding academic performance and interest in the aeronautical sector.

The journey consisted of a flight over the national airspace aboard a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, allowing the children to appreciate the country's landscapes from a unique perspective.

After landing, attendees enjoyed a Christmas celebration coordinated by volunteer collaborators, which included lunch, artistic performances, recreational activities, and the distribution of gifts.

Social commitment and strategic partners

Since its creation in 1994, the "Unforgettable Trip" has positively impacted more than 3,800 children nationwide. This initiative is managed under the umbrella of the Despega Foundation of Copa Airlines, which focuses its efforts on promoting children's well-being, sports, and the growth of local talent within the aviation industry. The success of this thirty-first edition was made possible by the work of an organizing committee of volunteers and the support of a network of strategic partners and sponsors, including Petróleos Delta, Stevens, ALCOGAL, GALA, T-shirts Interamericana, Kenneth Cole, and various companies in the food and service sectors that joined the purpose of bringing a day of joy to the children of Panama.
