Fifty women in custody in Panama received academic certificates and diplomas as part of a social reintegration program. The Minister of Government called this event proof that education is a tool for change.

In Panama City, Panama, a ceremony was held where 50 women from the Cecilia Orillac de Chiari Female Rehabilitation Center (CEFERE) received their academic certifications. The event took place at the Government Palace. Minister of Government Dinoska Montalvo and Vice Minister of Education Agnes de Cotes emphasized that this event proves that education is a tool for social change. The minister stated that regardless of their personal situation, studying represents an opportunity for advancement and hope for the future. She also thanked the faculty for their dedication in guiding these students toward their goals. Vice Minister of Academic Education Agnes de Cotes highlighted the importance of inter-institutional alliances to demonstrate that education is a tool for change. The academic results show that 23 women obtained their ninth-grade certificates, while 27 students earned their high school diplomas, becoming Bachelors in Commerce. Top honors were awarded: for ninth grade, Migdalia Martinez took first place, Elena Rodriguez second, and Melissa Perez third. Among the high school graduates, Genesis Chamán earned first place, Milagro Esquivel second, and Nathaly Herrera third. Minister of Government Dinoska Montalvo congratulated the students and their families, stating that this academic success is a fundamental step in personal development. She reaffirmed the State's trust in these women's ability to rebuild their life projects.
