In the early hours of December 26, 2025, the Meritorious Fire Corps of the Republic of Panama (BCBRP) responded to a vehicle fire emergency in the Plaza Edison area, Tower 300, PH Vivendi, Betania district. The alert was received at 02:12 a.m. under dispatch 10-70 Charlie. Upon arriving at the location, units from vehicle No.5 of San Miguelito and station No.300 confirmed that four vehicles were on fire in the basement area of the building. Immediately, firefighting personnel began extinguishment maneuvers and also evacuated the building as a safety precaution. Captain Alexander Pérez reported that 25 firefighting units were involved in the control and extinguishment of the fire. The situation was brought under control, with no fatalities reported at the time of this report. During the emergency response, several people were affected by smoke inhalation, so the dispatch of ambulances from station No.1008 and No.8 of Balboa was coordinated for evaluation and care. The BCBRP continues to carry out the necessary verifications to ensure the safety of the area.
