Vandalism at Panama School Delays New Academic Year Preparations

In the midst of New Year's celebrations, unknown individuals broke into the Elena Chávez Pinate school in the Juan Díaz area and left a trail of damage, just as the institution was undergoing adjustments for the new school year. The incident was reported around 7:42 in the morning when the staff working on the construction of temporary modules arrived at the site and found the place in disarray. Broken windows, damaged ceilings, vandalized bathrooms, smashed sinks, and painted messages on the walls were part of the scene. Workers immediately notified the authorities, and the architect in charge of the project, Diva, was contacted, who confirmed the damage in several areas, especially in the structure that will be used as the school's administration office during the development of the works. It is important to clarify that this infrastructure will not be demolished. The idea is to adapt it to serve as the school's administrative headquarters while the already coordinated projects for the campus are carried out. The vandalism not only caused material damage but also delayed the effort to improve the center's conditions, directly affecting the school community that hopes to start the year with dignified and safe spaces.
