An incident recorded on the night of January 9th at the El Caravaggio building, in the Calidonia area, left a young man dead after an armed attack. According to preliminary reports, the victim has been identified as 22-year-old Edwin Humberto Martínez, known by the alias 'Osito'. The incident was reported at 10:10 p.m. when a telephone call alerted authorities to a person with a gunshot wound. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities observed Martínez's body lying on the pavement with two bullet wounds to the head and back. He was transferred to Santo Tomás Hospital. Despite medical efforts, 'Osito' died at 10:20 p.m. According to authorities, the victim was surprised by an unknown individual who shot him without warning. The motive for the incident is unknown. It was confirmed that the deceased had a police record for various cases, including confiscation of a firearm, disrespect for a National Police officer, and search warrants.
