The mayor of the capital, Mayer Mizrachi, highlighted the importance of the carnival as a tourist attraction for the city. Regarding the water supply, Mizrachi acknowledged that there are communities in the capital with this problem, so he assured that for each tanker truck destined for the street parties, another will be assigned to an affected community. The mayor pointed out that the intention is to create a unique carnival in the capital, different from the traditional Calle Arriba and Calle Abajo celebrations held in the interior of the country. The capital mayor, Mayer Mizrachi, emphasized that the greatest success of last year's carnivals was the security system implemented, for which he praised the work of the Honorable Fire Corps, first aid teams, the Institutional Protection Service (SPI), the National Police, and the Municipal Police. The event, which will take place from February 13 to 17 on the Coastal Strip, will feature national and international artists and offer music that will include genres such as salsa, merengue, among other rhythms. The organizers promise more water, music, and national and international artists. Mizrachi explained that for this event, they are working in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, the Panama Tourism Authority, and the private sector. The 2026 Carnival Festival Volumen Caribe was officially launched this Monday at an event held at “La playita Las Garzas,” in the Casco Antiguo. Additionally, a gastronomic boulevard, food trucks, and sales points for entrepreneurs and micro-entrepreneurs will be set up. There will also be two amusement parks for children that will be open until midnight.
