The family is running a public campaign to regain custody of the animal. 'They want to build a legal case against my daughter Carlienis when there is no evidence of mistreatment, no abuse, nor was she bought,' said the mother. They argue that Karol, who was cared for since she was a baby with food and veterinary care, does not know how to survive in the wild and her health is deteriorating due to the stress of the separation.
