Five students and a professor from the UMIP will spend a week aboard the TS Patriot II training vessel. They will live at sea, learn shipboard operations, and reinforce their practical knowledge in maritime affairs. This was shared by rector Víctor Luna Barahona, proud of this exchange. The UMIP makes it clear that it wants its students to graduate well-prepared. This type of external alliance strengthens education, teamwork, and provides young people with real-world experience. The idea is to grow academically and professionally, and in the process, strengthen cultural ties between Panama and the United States. This meeting is part of an academic and cultural exchange between the two institutions. The ship's crew toured the university. It is their first visit to the country, and the UMIP welcomed them with open arms. They saw the classrooms, workshops, and how students are trained.
