Maria Corina Machado's Son Attended CAF 2026 in Panama

Ricardo Sosa Machado attended the economic forum in Panama but declined to comment on Venezuelan politics, stating his visit was strictly professional.

Ricardo Sosa Machado, son of Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado, attended the Latin America and Caribbean International Economic Forum 2026 (CAF 2026), held in Panama on January 28–29. The event brought together leaders, high-level officials, and representatives from the business and academic sectors.

Sosa's presence drew the attention of accredited journalists due to his family's political background. Reporters sought his perspective on his mother's role in the regional debate and the situation in Venezuela. However, Ricardo Sosa declined to comment on political or family matters.

He stated that his attendance was strictly limited to issues related to his professional work. His stance mirrored that of other attendees who preferred to focus on the forum's economic agenda.

CAF 2026, organized by the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, solidified its role as a key platform for dialogue. Discussions centered on digital transformation, the energy transition, and social cohesion.
