A motorcyclist died on Friday morning in Panama in a collision with another vehicle on the access road to the Centenario Bridge, heading towards Panama City. Preliminary information details that the victim is an adult and that the collision was a rear-end impact, as the motorcycle hit a pickup truck from behind. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist suffered the worst fate, as he was thrown into the air after the impact and fell onto the roadway, where he died. Units from the National Police Traffic Operations Directorate and paramedics arrived at the scene, but although they performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the man died at the location. Now, the Public Ministry will initiate a summary investigation to determine if the motorcyclist failed to maintain a safe distance, if the pickup truck driver suddenly reduced speed, or if excessive speed played a role in this traffic incident.
