I spent about 5 years there providing professional services, just a little while after graduating from law school (1982). During that period, there were countless occasions when I got thousands of young people, girls, and high-society members of Panama dancing to the excellent musical productions of Ruben Blades and Willie Colon. There, at the Union Club, I also had the privilege of seeing and hearing both Willie and Ruben in an exclusive performance for club members. Exquisite. That night, in the nightclub, after the show, I don't remember how many times I played records by Willie and Ruben. More than four decades after that memorable night, I realize I had never told this story before; not even at home. The story of my experience with Willie and Ruben was first published in La Verdad Panama. I was the owner of the first mobile disco that was introduced in Panama: SONODISC. It was a wonderful experience. And, in addition, I was a disc jockey.
