Between 30 and 40 fire units were working at the site, managing to contain the flames and make progress in controlling them. Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo De León, head of the Panama zone, explained that one of the main problems during the fire response was the lack of water and low pressure in the area. The fire in Villa Grecia, which raised alarms this Friday, started as a small blaze at 6:30 AM and escalated into a major fire, forcing the rapid mobilization of dozens of units from the Fire Corps in North Panama. The emergency occurred at a warehouse of the company Coremusa, where wooden furniture and MDF material are stored, which favored the spread of the fire. No human injuries have been reported so far, and investigations are awaited to determine the causes. The fire chief also called on companies to reinforce their security and maintenance measures, noting that many structures meet the requirements initially, but over time they develop faults, especially in electrical systems, which can lead to emergencies like this. This incident occurred 48 hours after another fire in a warehouse, keeping authorities on alert due to the recurrence of such cases in industrial zones. The arrival of more tankers was also managed to expedite the control of the disaster. Authorities indicated that the fire remained contained and under control, while efforts continued for its total extinguishment. This required coordinating support with the IDAAN and using water tankers to sustain operations. According to the report, at least two fire units from the Fire Corps were active.
