Water Supply Restoration in Panama

The director of IDAAN, Rutilio Villarreal, reported that since Sunday afternoon, more than 90% of homes in San Miguelito and Panama were already supplied with water. He explained that during the suspension, maintenance work was carried out at the Civiles water treatment plant as part of the plan to interconnect the eastern hydraulic ring. Among the highlighted tasks were the repair and reinforcement of screens, the replacement of three critical valves, and adjustments to the pumping line. An air relief valve was also installed, and the water conduit to East Panama was reinforced. The Sustainable Development Council explained that these works are part of the plan to interconnect the eastern hydraulic ring. Once completed, it will allow for the transport and distribution of drinking water to areas where there are no supplementary sources, including the Cabra plant.
