Panama's Operation Smile Foundation Inaugurates Its New Comprehensive Care Center. After more than two decades of management, the foundation has consolidated a free care model that accompanies the development of children and young people into adulthood. Likewise, the facility has the necessary capabilities to provide pre and post-surgical care in the areas of surgery and anesthesia. María Elena Berberian, executive director of the Panama Operation Smile Foundation, stated that this moment represents the organization's commitment to dignified care. With this inauguration, the Panama Operation Smile Foundation reaffirms its mission to restore smiles, now operating from its own center born from citizen support. Berberian highlighted that the purpose is not limited to a surgical intervention, but to an accompaniment that directly impacts the health and future of each patient and their family, describing the initiative as a gift for a lifetime. The opening coincides with the foundation's 35th anniversary in the country, during which more than 6,000 free surgical procedures have been performed. This approach makes the center a unique infrastructure in the national territory for the comprehensive management of these medical conditions. Solidarity and local volunteering. The construction and launch of the clinic were made possible by fundraising obtained exclusively at the local level, reflecting the commitment of Panamanian society. The facilities will permanently offer specialties in dentistry, orthodontics, speech therapy, psychology, nutrition, otolaryngology, and pediatrics.
