The Board of Directors of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (PARLATINO), meeting at its permanent headquarters, issued a Declaration in defense of the dignity of migrants from Latin America and the Caribbean. Led by Deputy Rolando González Patricio, the Board urged the Parliaments of the region, the Executives of the States, as well as the international community to ensure respect for the human rights of all people subject to mass deportation measures.
In the statement, PARLATINO urges the search for mechanisms that mitigate the possible adverse effects on the families and communities of migrants. It reaffirms the commitment to a political dialogue focused on addressing the causes of current migration flows and advocating for orderly, regular, and safe migration.
