The Ministry of the Environment (MiAMBIENTE) conducted a technical inspection in the area of the Matasnillo River in response to a citizen's complaint about a possible environmental impact, disseminated through social networks. Jonathan Rodríguez, a technician from the Environmental Performance Verification Directorate, explained that the technical team mobilized immediately to the site to carry out the corresponding verifications upon learning of the complaint. The institution highlighted that this type of citizen participation strengthens timely management in the protection of natural resources. During the inspection, which included drone flights and sample collection, no visible signs of contamination were observed, but the final results are expected within a 15-day period. Finally, MiAMBIENTE reiterated to the public the importance of continuing to report any suspicion of environmental damage through the ministry's official channels. The official stated that the site's traceability has already been established, which is fundamental for the investigation.
