Rejection of the disinformation campaign The SPP maintains that over the last year and a half, the organization has been the target of a «campaign of slander and disinformation» driven by people who «in the past left the union administration in deplorable conditions and who now seek to hinder the process of reconstruction, transparency, and institutional strengthening» underway. The leadership categorically rejected the attacks, defamatory writings, and messages distributed via WhatsApp and other digital platforms, stating that these only seek to divide Panamanian journalists and undermine the credibility of the Union's work. The Union of Journalists of Panama (SPP) issued an official communiqué strongly rejecting the circulation of slander and anonymous attacks directed at its leadership. Finally, the guild called on its colleagues and public opinion not to be «confused by anonymous and malicious messages», urging confidence in legitimately constituted institutions recognized by competent authorities.
