The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, visited Panama, almost 72 years after Queen Elizabeth II's visit in 1953. The visit took place at the very same location where the Queen attended a reception hosted by then-President José Antonio Remón Cantera in 1953. The Duchess also viewed a commemorative photographic exhibition dedicated to the late Queen's visit and met with key UK partners in the country to highlight collaboration on global issues such as climate change, gender equity, and peace. As part of her agenda, she also held a meeting with the UK Ambassador to Panama, Greg Houston, and several government ministers. One of the events featured a performance with two young people in traditional Panamanian attire.
