Panama and India signed five memorandums of understanding for the implementation of rapid-impact projects. These agreements will enable the execution of community works, improvements in educational centers, and a network of 9 artificial intelligence experimentation stations. One of the agreements involves the channeling of a stream in the Santa Rita district of Coclé province, aiming to channel and stabilize the Santa Rita riverbed to reduce the risk of flooding. The signing ceremony took place in the Hall of Peace at the Palace of the Herons and was attended by Panama's Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, and the Secretary of National Science, Technology, and Innovation (Senacyt), Eduardo Ortega Barría. The Indian Ambassador to Panama, Sumit Seth, expressed: "Long live Panama, long live India, and long live friendship!" He added that Panama has great talent and that India has several high-level institutes to enhance it. This year, the number of scholarships for Panama has been increased from 25 to 30, and he hopes this will rise to 50 and 100 for talented young people from Panama. Meanwhile, the First Lady, Maricel Cohen de Mulino, who acted as an honorary witness, highlighted the social impact of the agreements, which will facilitate investment in projects benefiting vulnerable communities. These include the construction of a vehicle bridge in the same district and investment in the Food Security and Community Sustainability Plan at the Amelia Denis de Icaza School in San Miguelito, where an integral food security model will be implemented. A similar plan will be launched at the Samaria Sinaí Basic General Education Center (San Miguelito). The fifth memorandum, signed by Senacyt Secretary Ortega Barría, contemplates the creation of the "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science, Experimentation Stations in Senacyt Clubhouses" project.
