César Caicedo, who months ago publicly denounced the alleged kidnapping of his daughter, Dayra, was arrested this Wednesday. Authorities have identified him as part of a group allegedly dedicated to trafficking illicit substances. His arrest took place within the framework of Operation Nodriza, carried out by the Prosecutor's Office for Drugs of the Public Ministry.
According to the official report, the police action resulted in a total of eight people being detained during operations conducted in Panama and West Panama. These included raids on properties and boats within social and sports clubs, as well as maneuvers in the Diablo area.
The investigation supporting this operation began in 2023. A structure composed of Panamanians and Colombians with defined roles, operating from Panamanian territory, has been identified.
Authorities reported that the case of the citizen arrested today—who previously had asked the public for help in his daughter's disappearance—continues to be analyzed within the legal process. The investigation remains open, and it is expected that in the coming hours, official information will be expanded upon regarding the connections, routes, and responsibilities of the eight individuals apprehended in this new phase of Operation Nodriza.
