Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino visited the 'Los Retazos Tienen Magia' bazaar this Saturday, an exhibition set up at the Casa Club in Omar Park to showcase articles made by people deprived of liberty within social reintegration programs of the Ministry of Government. During the tour, the head of state observed firsthand the products created in the industrialization workshops, highlighting the quality of the pieces and the technical work behind each one. He also stated that 'it is worth continuing to work for you and for everything we are seeing in this bazaar,' referring to the high quality of the work on display. The president also took the opportunity at the event to congratulate the Panamanian mothers on their day, highlighting their role in social construction and the importance of their contribution to family and community reintegration processes. Mulino highlighted that these initiatives allow for the development of skills that facilitate labor integration once people regain their freedom. The president also shared with event attendees and witnessed the presentation of the Coro Vive María, made up of women from the Female Center, who performed pieces as part of the penitentiary cultural program. In statements made at the location, Mulino sent a direct message to the inmate participants in the workshops, reminding them that 'everything passes' and that maintaining discipline and hope is key to continuing their transformation process. This event reaffirms the interest of the National Government in promoting policies that offer second chances, strengthen productive programs within the penitentiary system, and serve as a platform to make visible the concrete results of the work done by those deprived of liberty.
