Panamanian Interpol agents, with U.S. help, arrested a woman suspected of illegally taking a child out of the country. The child was safely recovered, and two firearms were seized from the suspect.


Woman Wanted for Child Abduction Apprehended in Panama

A woman wanted internationally for illegally removing a minor from the United States was apprehended in Panama. The operation was carried out by agents of the Panama Interpol and the Judicial Investigation Directorate (DIJ), with the cooperation of U.S. authorities. The arrest took place in the Las Cumbres area, Ernesto Córdoba district. During the operation, the minor was successfully recovered and immediately placed under the custody and protection of the relevant authorities, who are tasked with safeguarding their physical and emotional integrity. The woman also had two firearms located and seized from her possession. The woman was subject to an Interpol Red Notice, issued at the request of U.S. authorities for the crime of minor abduction. The firearms, whose carry permits had expired, along with the ammunition found, were turned over to the competent authorities to initiate the corresponding legal proceedings for this additional violation.
