Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar will visit Panama on February 24-25. This is the first visit by an Israeli minister to the country in over 40 years. The visit includes high-level meetings to discuss bilateral cooperation in economy, agriculture, and water resources.


Historic Visit by Israel's Foreign Minister to Panama

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Gideon Sa'ar, will make an official visit to Panama on February 24 and 25. This is a historic event that marks the first visit of an Israeli foreign minister to the country in over four decades. The official agenda for Minister Gideon Sa'ar includes high-level official meetings with the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino; the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Herrera; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, Javier Martínez Acha; as well as with government authorities. They will address topics of common interest, especially in the areas of water and agriculture cooperation, and economic and commercial matters. As part of the program, the Minister will also visit the Panama Canal, an emblematic infrastructure of strategic importance for global trade and connectivity. The Ambassador of Israel in Panama, Mattanya Cohen, highlighted that this official visit is historic and symbolizes a new stage of rapprochement and strengthening of the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, based on shared values, mutual respect, and the vision of generating joint opportunities for the growth and well-being of both nations. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar has designated this year as one of greater rapprochement between Israel and Latin America. In addition to Panama, his tour includes the Republic of Ecuador.
