The first citizen swearing-in ceremony of 2026 took place in the province of Panama. Governor Mayín Correa presided over the official event where 37 professionals from 17 nationalities completed their naturalization process. Governor Correa emphasized that as citizens, they must collaborate with the nation to make it greater and contribute to its economic development. Among the participants were citizens from Venezuela (9), Colombia (6), Honduras (3), and India (3). One of the new citizens, Colombian Juan Jácome Sierra, noted that this moment represented the culmination of a dream he had held since childhood. Notary Tania Chen Guillén expressed her inspiration at the patriotic sentiment of the new citizens.
