Panama. The first suspect in the murder of 62-year-old Abel Bejarano Santamaría, which occurred on January 7 during an armed robbery at his diner 'Elda', located in 24 de Diciembre, was apprehended this Wednesday in the same district. An 18-year-old man, who was hiding in the area, was arrested during a search and seizure operation conducted by units of the Judicial Investigation Directorate (DIJ) and the Prosecutor's Office. After the arrest, the suspect was placed at the disposal of the Homicide and Femicide Prosecutor's Office to be presented before a guarantees judge for the judicialization of the case, for which two other involved individuals are still at large. For now, Bejarano's family is awaiting notification from the authorities about the arrest and the procedures to follow in the investigation of the crime of this man, described as honest and hardworking, who left his wife alone.
