Panama did not win the international Tunnel Vision Challenge, but The Boring Company maintains its interest in the project to build a pedestrian tunnel under the Panama Canal and seeks to continue advancing studies and analysis. As confirmed by Mayor Mayer Mizrachi, despite not being among the winners, the company decided to proceed with feasibility studies on its own, outside of the competition. Mayer explained that the project caught attention due to its high level of complexity and innovation, which motivated the company not to let go of the proposal. The mayor stated that this communication represents a positive sign, as it keeps Panama on the radar of one of the world's most important companies. He added that the initiative presented has characteristics that make it attractive within this type of development. He also indicated that Panama is the only mayor's office or country to have received this type of interest outside the contest, which he described as extraordinary treatment. He affirmed that this is because the proposal managed to capture attention and demonstrate its potential. Among them was the project 'The Canal Underline', promoted by the Municipality of Panama.
