The case is linked to alleged irregularities in the purchase of equipment and supplies that occurred between 2022 and 2024. During the inspection, authorities conducted interviews with responsible officials, who provided documentation related to the purchases. Additionally, the acquired equipment was inspected as part of the verification process within the investigation. Fire department directors, defense lawyers, and indicted individuals were also present at the scene, as they are part of this ongoing investigation. The case stems from a complaint filed by the directors of the Meritorious Fire Corps themselves with the Prosecutor's Office, regarding alleged irregularities in the use of a $20 million trust fund.
