A man was killed late Thursday afternoon in the Santa Cruz area, located in the Curundú district of Panama. Preliminary information indicates that an exchange of shots occurred in the building area of Santa Cruz, during which the victim was shot. Agonizing, the man was taken to the emergency room of Santo Tomás Hospital, where on-duty physicians determined that he had no vital signs. Following the crime report, units of the National Police arrived at the scene to begin the investigation in conjunction with personnel from the Public Ministry, but so far, no suspects have been apprehended. This bloody incident adds to the two double homicides recorded this week in Río Abajo, near the bridge by the Los Pueblos shopping center, which, according to authorities, are related to internal gang conflicts operating in these sectors.
