Two-time Olympian Jorge Castel Blanco, last year's winner of the Panama International Marathon, is set to defend his title this Sunday, November 23, in the 49th edition of this sporting event, which will bring together over 3,500 runners from five continents.
The Panama International Marathon will start at 4:00 AM from the parking lots of the Hotel Miramar on Balboa Avenue, while the 21k start is scheduled for 5:45 AM.
The safety of runners along the course is guaranteed through the coordination and participation of the Panama Municipality, the National Police's Traffic Operations Directorate, the Land Transit and Transport Authority (ATTT), the National Borders Service (Senafront), the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP), and the Institutional Protection System (SPI).
Meanwhile, Jorge Enrique Castelblanco won last year with a time of 2 hours, 19 minutes, and 37 seconds.
The Chiricano long-distance runner also won in 2022 with 2:21:48 and in 2021 with 2:27:07.
This edition will feature runners from countries such as El Salvador, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Nicaragua, Belize, Honduras, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, Ecuador, Curaçao, Cuba, the United States, Spain, Japan, China, and others.
