Panama U-19 Ready for Home UNCAF Tournament

Panama's U-19 team, last year's runner-up, will compete for the UNCAF title on home soil at COS Sports Plaza. Their debut against Cuba is set for December 5.


Panama U-19 has been placed in Group A and will play all its group stage matches at the COS Sports Plaza. Felipe Baloy, coach of the Panama Men's Under-19 National Team, has already selected his squad for the upcoming UNCAF Sub-19 FIFA Forward tournament, to be held from December 5 to 11 in our country. Panama comes in as the runner-up from the last edition of the UNCAF Sub-19 tournament, held last year in Honduras, where they lost on penalties to Guatemala in the final. Baloy has called up a total of 20 players who will seek to make history on home soil and win the first-ever men's Sub-19 title from the Central American Football Union (UNCAF). They will close the group stage on Tuesday, December 9, against Honduras U-19, also at 3pm. The UNCAF Sub-19 tournament serves as the first step in the preparation for teams aspiring to compete in the next FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan 2027. The national team's debut is scheduled for this Friday, December 5, when they face Cuba in a match set for 3:00 p.m. They will then play on Sunday, December 7, against Nicaragua U-19, at 3pm. The grand final will be held on Thursday, December 11, at 3pm, at the COS Sports Plaza. Goalkeepers: Alberto Ruiz (Tauro FC), Luis Lazo (UMECIT FC).
