Panama Boxing: Arboleda and Mosquera to Fight for National Title

Tomorrow in Panama City, the 'Fire Against Fire' boxing event will take place. In the main event, Jaime Arboleda and Orlando Mosquera will contest the vacant Panamanian national lightweight title. The co-main event features a WBO Latin title fight.


Panama Boxing: Arboleda and Mosquera to Fight for National Title

Today, Panamanian boxers Jaime Arboleda and Orlando 'Virus' Mosquera will step on the scale ahead of their bout scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, December 13, which will be the main event of the 'Fire Against Fire' fight night. The event will take place at the Gimnasio Tierra de Campeones Atheyna Bylon.

The event, dedicated to sporting glory and former world champion Ismael Laguna, is organized by Master Promotions and Guantes de Acero. The official weigh-in ceremony is set for 1:00 PM at the event venue (Gimnasio Tierra de Campeones Atheyna Bylon), where Arboleda and Mosquera must not exceed 135 pounds, as the vacant national lightweight title will be at stake in this 10-round fight.

In the co-main event, the World Boxing Organization's (WBO) Latin super welterweight title will be contested between Cuban Alex Esponda and Colombian Maykol 'El Diamante' Mendoza in a 10-round bout.

In another fight, the undefeated Panamanian Carlos 'El Gallero' Rodríguez will face the Costa Rican Denis Espinoza Centeno in an 8-round bout at 115 pounds.

Another bout on the card features Panamanian Eusebio Acevedo, who will face Mexican José Guillermo Alvarado in an 8-round fight at 135 pounds.

Meanwhile, Antonio Tzamaernda (Ecuador) will face Ezequiel Bonilla (Panama) in a 6-round bout at 108 pounds. The Puerto Rican Derriek Cuevas will face the Panamanian Rafael Bethancourt in an 8-round bout at 154 pounds.

Other fights on the card include William 'El Chatel' Vargas (Nicaragua-Panama) vs Tony 'El Patriota' Gómez (Venezuela) at 6 rounds and 135 pounds; Yuki Asaka (Japan) vs José Luis Martínez (Panama) at 4 rounds and 105 pounds; Rubén Soto (USA) vs Denilson Chavarría (Nicaragua) at 6 rounds and 126 pounds; Lorena Ascanio (Venezuela) vs Yacksury Gordon (Panama) at 6 rounds and 118 pounds; Jardiel Rodríguez (Darién) vs Iván Vergara (Panama) at 4 rounds and 147 pounds; and Eduar Martínez vs Gregorio Francis at 4 rounds and 130 pounds.
