Panamanian boxer Jaime 'Jaimito' Arboleda defeated Orlando 'Virus' Mosquera in a bout that had an unexpected end. An intentional headbutt in the tenth and final round caused the referee to stop the fight, with the winner to be decided on the scorecards. In the main event of the 'Fuego contra Fuego' card, held at the Tierra de Campeones Atheyna Bylon Training Center on Saturday night, all three judges scored the fight for Arboleda (two scores of 88-82 and one of 86-84) for the national lightweight (135 lbs) title. Arboleda, who returned to boxing after a brief retirement, now has a record of 21-4-1 (15 KOs). Mosquera suffered his first loss in four fights, with his record now at 15-5-1 (3 KOs). Arboleda, who hadn't fought in Panama in several years, stated that he studies his opponents and always starts slow to build up pressure. In the co-main event, Cuban Alex Esponda defeated Colombian Maykol 'El Diamante' Mendoza by a first-round knockout, maintaining his undefeated record of 7-0 (7 KOs). In another bout, Nicaraguan William 'Chantel Vargas' and Venezuelan Tony 'El Patriota' Gómez fought to a draw. Panamanian Eusebio Acevedo ended the unbeaten streak of Puerto Rican Rubén 'El Versátil' Soto by defeating him by technical knockout in the third round.
