At the Hipódromo Presidente Remón, the Classic Jorge Ameglio race was held. The filly Ataviada bravely withstood the final attacks from Gold Basin on the outside and Aradia on the inside to claim victory. Ataviada is a two-year-old filly, daughter of Tom’s D’Etat out of Caribbean Sea, bred in the United States. She runs for the colors of Stud Carmen Cristina, trained by Eligio Ocaña and ridden by jockey Félix Salgado. The winner covered the 1,400-meter distance in a time of 1:25.4, with splits of 23.2 for the first 400 meters, 46.3 for the 800 meters, and 1:12.3 for the 1,200 meters. The official order of finish for this race was as follows: Ataviada first; Gold Basin second; Aradia third; Volatile Girl fourth; and Giralina fifth.
