Coach Thomas Christiansen has called up 14 players from the Panamanian Football League for friendly matches against Bolivia and Mexico in January 2026. The players will begin training on January 12.


14 LPF Players Called Up to Panama National Team for Friendlies

A total of 14 players from the Panamanian Football League (LPF) have been called up by coach Thomas Christiansen for Panama's first two friendly matches in 2026. The national team will face Bolivia away on January 18 and Mexico at home. The list of LPF players called up is as follows: GOALKEEPER: Marcos De León (Sporting SM). DEFENDERS: Ariel Arroyo (Dep. Árabe Unido), Juan Hall (Sporting SM), Luis Asprilla (Tauro FC), Omar Córdoba (CD Plaza Amador), Orman Davis (CA Independiente) and Kevin Galván (San Francisco FC). MIDFIELDERS: Ricardo Phillips Jr. (CD Plaza Amador), Angel Caicedo (CA Independiente), Giovany Herbert (Dep. Árabe Unido), Héctor Hurtado (Sporting SM), Abdul Knight (CD Plaza Amador) and José Murillo (CD Plaza Amador). FORWARD: Saed Díaz (Tauro FC). These 14 LPF players will join the seven legionnaires called up on Thursday to begin training on Monday, January 12, and conclude on Thursday, January 15, at the COS Sports Plaza from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The legionnaires called up are goalkeepers Eddie Roberts (Estudiantes de Mérida, Venezuela) and John Gunn (New England Revolution II, United States); defenders Richard Peralta (Monagas SC, Venezuela), Jorge Gutiérrez (Deportivo La Guaira, Venezuela) and Daniel Aparicio (Real España, Honduras); midfielder Jovani Welch (Monagas SC, Venezuela), and forward Kadir Barría (Botafogo, Brazil). According to a press release from the FPF, the final list of players will be announced next week prior to the trip to Bolivia. The National Team is scheduled to travel to Bolivia on the afternoon of Thursday, January 15, for its first international match. Panama is preparing to face Bolivia away next Sunday, January 18, at 4:00 p.m. in the city of Tarija, and then will host Mexico at home the following Thursday, January 22, at 8:00 p.m. at the Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez Stadium in Panama City.
