Panamanian authorities reported on Thursday the seizure of a total of 240 packages of suspected drugs during an operation carried out at Playa Toro, in the district of Pedasí, in the province of Los Santos.
According to the authorities' statement, the drug seizure operation was conducted jointly by the National Police and the Ministry Public Prosecutor's Office and also led to the apprehension of seven people allegedly linked to the case, including a Colombian citizen.
Authorities did not specify the type of drug seized or the total weight of the shipment.
However, in general, the packages of illicit substances seized in this type of operation usually weigh approximately one kilogram each, with cocaine being the drug most trafficked through maritime routes passing through Panama.
