Penonomé Lights Up Christmas with 'Santa's Dreams' Theme

The Penonomé Municipality and Cobre Panama switched on the Christmas lights, inspired by 'Santa's Dreams.' The event brought hundreds of families together in Parque 8 de Diciembre, combining festivities, support for local entrepreneurs, and community bonding.

On the evening of Friday, December 5th, the Penonomé Municipality and Cobre Panama held the Christmas lights switch-on, inspired this year by the concept “Santa’s Dreams,” a proposal aimed at sparking wonder, unity, and hope throughout the community.

The district of Penonomé officially welcomed the Christmas season with a celebration that brought hundreds of families together in Parque 8 de Diciembre. From early morning, the park was transformed into a vibrant space: Christmas carols, children's activities, and a local entrepreneurs' bazaar enlivened the event, creating an ideal atmosphere for family bonding while also boosting the local economy.

At 7:00 p.m., the lights were switched on, illuminating the park in a spectacle that combined color, tradition, and the unique charm of the season. The event concluded with a message of gratitude to the attendees and an invitation to continue participating in activities that will take place throughout the month, keeping the magic of “Santa's Dreams” alive and strengthening community unity in Penonomé.

This grand event was made possible by the collaborative effort between the Penonomé Municipality, Cobre Panamá, Glamour Storage, and various community partners, who joined forces to offer the population a memorable afternoon. “And this was only possible thanks to the support of those who believe in our community, especially Cobre Panamá and Glamour Storage, who came together to make such a special night a reality,” said the Vice Mayor of Penonomé, Valentín Damasco.

On behalf of Cobre Panamá, Maru Gálvez delivered a message of gratitude: “At Cobre Panamá, we simply want to say: Thank you.”

Some of the children who participated in the Christmas evening commented on being happy with everything they experienced in the park. One of them was Dayana Alexandra, who was thrilled with her gift—a pair of headphones she had wanted for a long time. Likewise, some parents noted that it was an enjoyable and magical moment that their children loved. They also commented that initiatives like this are a good thing.

The Christmas programming will continue throughout December. Every weekend will feature special activities, the participation of entrepreneurs from the Cobre Emprende program, and family-oriented events designed to keep the magic of the season alive.
