In Panama, the body of an elderly man who was reported missing yesterday in the waters of the Coclé River, in the Dos Bocas area, Penonomé district, was found dead by rescuers on Friday. According to the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc), the man accidentally fell into the river's waters. Therefore, yesterday, personnel from the entity, in collaboration with Fire Department units, began the search operation, which had to be suspended late at night due to adverse weather conditions and lack of lighting. This Friday morning, actions were resumed by both security forces, which allowed for the recovery of the body in the same area where he had disappeared. Colonel Margarita Ducreux, head of the Coclé regional zone of the fire department, assured that the man's family and residents of the area collaborated in the search alongside security personnel. She also recommended that all people visiting beaches, rivers, and swimming areas take the corresponding safety measures, remembering that each person's safety is first when visiting these places to avoid regrettable situations. She mentioned that rain is forecast for the next few hours, so she requested the general population not to be in places where they could be surprised by rising river levels or strong waves.
