Child in Panama hospitalized after nut gets stuck on finger

Panama — What should have been a simple act of childhood curiosity turned into a real emergency this Friday after a boy got a nut stuck on his finger. According to the Benemérito Cuerpo de Bomberos de Panamá (BCBP), the incident occurred in the district of Santiago, Veraguas province. It was reported that the fire brigade from vehicle #304 was dispatched to the residence where the minor was located to respond to the emergency call made by the boy's family. Unfortunately, despite various maneuvers at the scene, the firefighters were unable to remove the nut from the boy's left middle finger, so it was necessary to transport him to the emergency room of the 'Luis Chico Fábrega' Regional Hospital. There, the on-duty doctors had to use a small surgical circular saw to cut the metal piece into three parts and free the trapped finger, which had already become inflamed. Fortunately, the incident did not escalate, and once the nut was removed, the boy was discharged.
