The director of the Social Security Fund (CSS) recently stated that the necessary number of contributors will never be reached to finance pensions through the current pyramid scheme.
According to Dino Mon, director of the CSS, it is vital to raise the retirement age in the country to ensure the sustainability of the pension system. Mon emphasized that the current model of pension financing through the pyramid of contributors is not viable in the long term.
In his statements, Mon highlighted the importance of making structural reforms in the social security system to address the aging population and the financial deficit. Therefore, the director of the CSS believes that increasing the retirement age is a necessary measure to guarantee the stability of the pension system in Panama.
"It is essential that decisions are made and changes are implemented to ensure that future generations can have a solid and sustainable pension system," said Dino Mon. In this regard, the director of the CSS urged concrete actions to tackle the challenges facing the social security system in the country.
