Budget Transfers Approved for Various Ministries in Panama

The Panama Budget Commission approved transfers for health, culture, and education, including significant funds for hospital improvements and technological upgrades in public services.


The Budget Commission approved the allocation of resources totaling 304,176.00 balboas for various institutions in Panama. Among them is the National Markets Chain of Cold Company, which was approved a transfer of 1.0 million balboas. The general manager, José Pablo Ramos Vittori, indicated that this allocation is intended for the institution's security expenses and to cover security payments at all its facilities, both in the city and in the interior of the country.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Culture was approved two transfers of funds, directed to different areas of financing. One of the transfers includes payment for collection management related to the construction of the Darién Hospital, among other commitments. Additionally, funds will be allocated to make payments to the Pan American Health Organization and for the acquisition of chickenpox vaccines.

Regarding the Electoral Tribunal, an allocation of 16.5 million balboas was requested by magistrate Alfredo Juncá, backed by minister Fernando Boyd Galindo. These resources will be used for various improvements, such as equipment maintenance, repairs, and travel expenses within the country. For her part, Minister María Eugenia Herrera detailed that the funds allocated to the Ministry of Culture will be used for heritage restoration projects, risk mitigation studies, and to meet agreed commitments.

The Budget Commission, chaired by deputy Sergio Gálvez, approved transfers of funds for the Ministry of Economy and Finance, intended to implement a technological solution for budget formulation, complete contributions to the Rate Stabilization Fund and meet pending payments to electric distribution companies. Additionally, allocations were made for the Ministry of Health, including transfers of funds for various needs within the sector.
