The Panamanian Chamber of Construction (CAPAC) has reiterated its proposal that the Preferential Interest Law benefit the purchase of homes valued up to 120 thousand dollars. This incentive has been fundamental in the continuous growth of the construction industry in the country.
According to CAPAC, the expansion of the preferential interest benefit to more affordable homes would significantly contribute to revitalizing the real estate sector and facilitating access to homeownership for a greater number of Panamanian families.
In the words of a representative of the Chamber, "This proposal seeks to boost the market for preferential interest housing, providing opportunities to a segment of the population that is currently not favored by this benefit."
The Preferential Interest Law has proven to be an effective tool to stimulate the demand for housing in Panama, and its expansion to lower-value properties could have a positive impact both on the construction sector and the population in general.
