The Competitiveness Center of the Western Region (CECOMRO) announced a socioeconomic analysis related to the Panama-David railway project. According to the report presented, this initiative, which is considered one of the most important projects of President José Raúl Mulino's administration, will have a significant impact on the regional economy by boosting growth and improving connectivity for provinces such as Coclé, Herrera, Veraguas, and Chiriquí with the logistical axis of the Canal.
The analysis emphasizes that the construction and operation of the railway line will contribute to the development of various industries, generating jobs and energizing economic activity in the area. Additionally, this project is expected to promote tourism by facilitating the movement of people between different provinces, which could in turn enhance investment in infrastructure and tourism services in the region.
Regarding transportation infrastructure, it is highlighted that the Panama-David project represents a significant advancement in the modernization of communication networks in the western region of Panama. The implementation of this railway line will allow for more efficient transportation of goods and passengers, reducing travel times and logistics costs for businesses and individuals moving through the area.
"The Panama-David railway project will not only boost the region's economy, but it will also strengthen integration and sustainable development of the benefitted provinces," stated the president of CECOMRO during the presentation of the analysis. With these positive outlooks, the construction and start-up of the new railway line are expected to significantly contribute to the economic and social progress of the western region of Panama.
