The National Police and the Public Ministry are carrying out Operation Bravata in the provinces of Panama and Panama Oeste with the aim of dismantling a criminal group dedicated to Financial Crimes to the detriment of a bank, with economic damage exceeding 120 thousand dollars. During the raids and searches conducted, the capture of 7 individuals was achieved, as well as the seizure of technological equipment and documents that may be linked to a complaint.
According to investigations by the judicial authorities, this group had established fictitious companies where fictitious employees unlawfully requested loans and credit cards. Among the detainees are 5 men and 2 women, who will be presented before the judicial authorities to answer for their actions.
In the words of the authorities: "This group was committing significant fraud against a financial entity, with a fraudulent modus operandi that involved the creation of fake companies to obtain illegal financial benefits." The dismantling of this criminal network is an important step in the fight against financial crimes in the region.
Operation Bravata is a clear example of the joint work between the National Police and the Public Ministry to combat financial crime and protect the interests of banking entities and society in general.
