The Panama Canal administration announced plans for business diversification that could increase its revenues by 20-25%. The projects include the construction of a gas pipeline, two new ports, a reservoir, and a land logistics corridor. The total investment will amount to 8.5 billion dollars. It is expected that within 90 days, the list of prequalified companies for the ports will be announced, while the process for the gas pipeline may take five months. In the last fiscal year, the canal's revenues increased by 14.4%, reaching 5.705 billion dollars. The Canal connects 180 maritime routes and 1,920 ports in 170 countries.
